Mental Design Month

Design denmark is putting spotlight on mental health for designers and creatives in February, with Designmuseum Danmark and Beyond Breath – with talks in the musum café and 3 breathwork sessions.

In the design industry, we celebrate creativity, but often accept a daily routine that wears down that very source. We work at a fast pace, with high demands and a constant responsibility to shape the world around us. All too rarely do we stop and make room to shape our own inner space.

Creativity thrives on tranquillity. It is at the core of a designer’s profession and development – but how do we ensure that we do not burn out? And how can we actively nurture and strengthen our creative muscle?

Designmuseum denmark and Design Denmark want to create a space where the pace is slowed down, where there is room to breathe, and where mental energy can be rebuilt. This is happening in collaboration with Beyond Breath and Pernille Lotus through three breathwork sessions in the beautiful and calming surroundings of the Design Museum.

We believe that sustainable design practice begins from within and is maintained over time. That calm is a raw material for creativity, innovation and motivation. And that mental health is a professional competence that deserves a much more central place in our everyday lives.

Come and breathe with us!
