TALK: ENDANGERED SPACES & SPECIES

TALK: ENDANGERED SPACES & SPECIES

Date: October 12th
Time: 17.00 - 19.00
Location: Designmuseum Danmarks festsal, Bredgade 68, 1260 København K, Denmark

Animal and plant species are going extinct. Biodiversity is decreasing. The ice is melting, and the oceans are rising. Places and areas are disappearing. The world is changing.

That’s why designers and architects are now using advanced digital technology to explore, ‘preserve,’ and recreate the places and species that are disappearing and becoming extinct as a consequence of human actions. By measuring, printing, materializing, and illustrating the changes, they bring to life the past, present, and future. They make the radical changes tangible and clear to support the need for urgent action.

In the current EMERGENCY exhibition, ENDANGERED SPACES & SPECIES, digital designer and artist Ida Lissner, along with architects Simon Strøyer and Jonas Swienty Andresen of Tideland Studio, clarify through animation and 3D-printed models just how quickly this development is taking place.

This talk provides the three artists with the opportunity to delve deeper into their works and emphasize their points.

Pernille Stockmarr, museum curator, Ph.D., and curator, is the moderator for the evening.

The admission fee for this event is 150 kr.
